Is A Fleshy Lump Above The Tailbone A Concern?

Hi. I have a fleshy lump (about the size of a ping pong ball) that has developed just above my derriere, where I believe the coccyx is. It is not hard or painful, and I can move it slightly. I do slouch when I sit, and I sit on it often. Should I be concerned? How can I get rid of it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to lipoma which is a fatty mass. It is benign and usually dont require any treatment. In case of treatment, it consists in surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
