Hi Fathima,

Welcome to HCM.

APLA is an autoimmune disorder in which the body recognizes certain normal components of blood and/or cell membranes as foreign substances and produces antibodies against them. Patients with these antibodies may experience blood clots, strokes, miscarriages, etc. It may occur in people with systemic lupus erythematosus, other autoimmune diseases, or in otherwise healthy individuals.

There is certainly risk of abortion in the first trimester or early second trimester.

Since you had pre-eclampsia in previous pregnancy, you certainly have a greater risk of having complications in this pregnancy.

I think your parents are rightly concerned about you and you should heed their advise and do take the opinion of your consulting doctor as well.
Wishing you all the best.
