Is Accidental Swallowing Of A Spiriva Capsule A Concern?

I accidentally swallowed a Spiriva capsule. I am 65 yr old female with COPD. AND AM CURRENT.Y BE TREATED WITH AVALOX AND PREDNISONE. I use Breo in the afternoon and Spiriva at night. Should I be concerned about the processing of the capsule itself. I know that the Spiriva will do nothing for my lungs, but want to know possible side effects from swallowing the capsules. Btw, lesson learned. Don t use Spiriva at the same time you are taking Meds and Supplememnts.

Hi,

Reports have been there where people mistakenly swallowed these capsules and now there is more stress on doctor /nurses to educate People properly about the use of these dry power capsules which are not to be swallowed rather used through a machine for inhalation.

Fortunately, the capsule is swallowed does not cause any harm howe'ver it won't work if swallowed so you need to use another capsule properly.
