Is Acute Painin Forearm With Swelling After Removal Of Plaster Cast For Fractured Wrist Bone Normal?
my dad fractured his wrist bone in a bike accident with his arm streched outwards on the road. As suggested by the orthopaedic surgeon we did the plaster cast which was for almost 50 days yesterday only the cast was removed and as suggested by him we are using the warm water treatment and some excercise suggested by him. still can feel some a acute pain in his lower part of forearm and sewlling can be seen on his hand. Needed the advise on the same thank you for your time and concern on the matter

Hi You might had the fracture called colle's which is fracture of end of radial bone.If your control x-ray showed a good consolidation with out any malunion then you will be fine by physiotherapy and exercises gradually.Some times nerve injury might be there that will recover very slowly as nerve regeneration is a slow process. If you have severe pain or disability then consult orthopedician for further evaluation.Hope this may help you thnks
