Is Alcohol Consumption Safe While On Xarelto?

My 82 year old father is on Xarelto following knee replacement surgery where he developed a blood clot. This happened in February. The clot is tiny now but the doctor is keeping him on the medication until August. My Dad wants to know if he can drink an occasional beer without doing harm to himself.

Hi, The moderate use of alcohol while taking xarelto doesn't affect the treatment. My recommendation is to limit daily alcohol consumption to no more than two glasses of wine.
