Is Alcohol Intake Advisable While On Brilinta And Lisinopril?

I am 54yrs on Brilinta 90 mg & Bupropion(to stop smoking)-2x daily, Lisinopril 20 mg , Metoprol 25mg,omeprazol 40 mg, asprin 81mg & Atorvastatin 80 mg daily. I had a stent put in my heart 2 months ago. I have not drank since I had this procedure. I was wondering if it s ok to have 2 or 3 beers or drinks once a week?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Alcohol abuse has been associated with disease of almost every system, but specially those of heart and livery. There is a concept of safe level (less then 14 units per week). However, a latest multinational study published recently concluded that no level was safe.

The best thing is you try to avoid it's use by all possible ways. I know it's not that easy, but easier then being sick.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
