I think you are taking about DTaP (which produces less fever and pain when compared to DTwP.)



Pentaxim contains DTaP and HIB and injectable polio vaccine. It does not contain Hepatitis B in it.
It's cost is high compared to the routine DTwp



Hepatitis B if required should be given separately.

Hello
There are two common type of vaccination available in the market.
One is Easy Five contains DTwP( Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whole cell Pertussis), Hib( Hemophilus influenzea), and Hepatitis B.
Second one is Pentaxim contains DTaP( Diphtheria, Tetanus, Acellular Pertussis), Hib, and Injectable Polio vaccine. It does not contains Hepatitis B vaccine.
Whole cell Pertussis component is responsible for most of the side effects.
This Pentaxim is also known as painless vaccine.
One can switch over from Easy five to Pentaxim.
Cost of Pentaxim is about three times that of Easy five i.e. around 1600 Rs.
An extra dose of IPV will be needed.
Consult with your pediatrician for proper immunisation.
