Is Artificial Aortic Valve For Severe Case Of Valve Stenosis Denied If Patient Has Alzheimer ?

Good evening:

My mother (86) needs an artificial aortic valve since she has a severe case of valve stenosis. The hospital refused to replace it because our Mother suffers from Alzheimer's disease (10 years). 5 yrs ago, I gave uo my job to look and care after her and that changed her life completely. She has been able to maintain a good score at the mini mental test (25/30). Now, doesn't that count for something?

Thnak you. Victor

Hi There

I understand your concern and i wanna tell you that you that the problem with ALZHEIMER patients are they are not able to take care of themselves and post surgery alot of care is required. I really appreciate your efforts that you are taking very good care of her and as you are telling her MINI MENTAL TEST scores has improved thats a good thing.

Yes it does counts, I would like to suggest you to take an opinion once more for her surgery and i hope and wish she will get a date for surgery.

I wish you good luck
