Is Augmentin Appropriate To Treat Vomiting And Nausea Caused By Fibromyalgia And Gastritis?
My daughter is 16 years old and has been previously diagnosed with fibromyalgia, mono and gastritis. Her throat was swelling about 9 weeks ago and she had nausea and vomiting. She was treated with steroids and they changed her birth control pill thinking it might be causing nausea. The symptoms went away until about three weeks ago. Her throat began to feel as if she was being choked. She began throwing up last Wednesday thru Friday and is still nauseated. Her lymphnodes are swollen. She was put on Augmentin yesterday. She was sent home from school today because she feels movement inside her throat. She has had no fever with any of this. Any ideas?
Welcome to HCM. Swollen neck glands indicates severe throat infection. Augmentin is the right choice of your doctor for throat infection. She has to take rebeprazole or pantoprazole with domperidone to subside the vomiting and gastritis. Lactic acid bacillus will be helpful. Take augmentin with milk or with some food to avoid drug induces gastritis. Drink more water and simple liquid diet. Do warm water or betadine mouth gargle. Keep in touch with your doctor.
