Is Baby Oil Advisable To Treat An Open Wound On The Ankle?
I have an open wound on my ankle Red meaty flesh. I m using silvertine, but wanted to know if I can use baby oil, so the skin doesn t dry out and tear open again. Nice scam, you should State your fees up front so I won t waste my time with you ducks.
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum. I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.
As a physician I would like to tell you that you should not use baby oil as it will increase chance of infection, Instead you should apply a Over the counter antibiotic cream for 7-10 days, 2 times a day. Keep the wound dry and clean and do not let it wet or soak it.
Also as you described it is showing red flesh means there must have been bleeding while the injury happened. So, I suggest that you should take a Tetanus shot to be safe. Also, if the wound does not recover after 15-20 days, go see a physician as soon as possible.
Thanks for Trusting & Posting your Query on this forum. Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice Day.
Regards, Dr.Abhijeet
