I m really worried bcz it happened for the first time. kindly tell me y this happened. is it because of taking heavy dose of mesalamine or anything else. Thanks
Mesalamine is one of the safe and effective drugs used in the treatment of mild to moderate ulcerative colitis.
Its common side effects include diarrhea, headache, heartburn, mild stomach discomfort or pain, nausea and vomiting. It is unlikely to cause prolonged vaginal bleeding in the prescribed doses.
You are advised to consult a gynecologist for further evaluation to find out cause of prolonged vaginal bleeding.
Hope this will help.
