Is Bleeding From The Incision Which Was Made For Removal Of Sebaceous Cyst On Shoulder Normal?
Hello, I had a sebaceous cyst on my shoulder removed by a plastic surgeon 3 days ago. The incision is about 2 1/2" long. I was told the stitches are inside and will dissolve on their own. On the outside there is a tape that should fall off in 2 - 3 weeks. I'm concerned that the incision is still bleeding..I'll be contacting the doctors office tomorrow, in the meantime I would appreciate your feedback
hi if they have used dissolving stitches, u dont need to worry. no problem there. most probably its due to some streneous arm movement that you did and the blood seeped in between the stitches. but it could also mean that one of the stitches might have snapped due to strenous exercise. even then no problem as the body has an excellent healing mechanism and even with one suture snapped heal nicely. in the meantime my advice would be to be cautious and not bump ur shoulder or move your arms too much for about 2 wks. thats the usual total healing time. hope it helps
