Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a throbbing in my left ear with no pain. It has been like this for over a week. It comes and goes. My doctor has put me on an antibiotic but she sees no redness. Also I am on high blood pressure medicine and I run 120/80 for the last 2 years. Now my blood pressure has 168/94. I am 60 years old in good health
Blood pressure of 168/94 mmHg is higher than normal and needs to be controlled by medications.
Throbbing pain could have lead to a certain amount of anxiety, which has increased tour blood pressure.
It is advisable for you to complete the treatment for your ear pain and decrease your stress levels. Then get your blood pressure checked once again.
If it remains to be on the higher side, then you would need alteration in the dose of existing medication or the addition of another medication to bring it back to normal levels and keep it under control.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
General & Family Physician
