Is Blood Pressure Reading Of 112/68 A Cause For Concern?
My blood pressure reading today is 112/68, I am a female aged 62 having recently had a full knee replacement Before my op I Was on blood pressure tablets for hypertension but was advised whilst n hospital to stop the medication as my blood pressure plummeted and I suffered fainting and dizziness, s this normal
Hi.. First we have to clarify whether this blood pressure value is with your anti hypertensive medications or without. If you are already not on any drugs for hypertensions at the moment this blood pressure value is so normal. But you have to go with your blood pressure monitored and charted atleast twice a week. if you are having high BP [ above 140/90 mmHg] in more than two ocassions you have to consult a doctor. And keep in mind you have not to exert your self at least half an hour prior BP monitoring. faintishness and dizziness are signs of low BP and you may get headache, nausea, vomiting if you are having high BP. You should have dietary advices regarding BP controll from your doctor as well.. Regards!
