Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi...my body temperature measured across my forehead is 95.4 degrees. I feel like it is hot. No other symptoms but flu is going around the family. (99 degree fever with sinus) My normal body temp would read about 97.8 degrees using the same method. Should I wrap up or take a warm shower? Thanks!!
Normal body temperature is 98.6 degree Fahrenheit. What you mentioned is below this, so you don’t have fever. As you said there is flu around in your family, make sure you take all necessary steps to prevent yourself from getting infected.
If you are worried about contracting the flu then there are vaccines available which you can take with your doctor’s advice. As well as prophylactic medicines can be given by your doctor. So I would suggest you to see your doctor and follow his advice.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
