Is Breast Feeding Advisable While Treating UTI?

Hi! I usually always nurse but I kept getting a UTI so my OBGYN gave me a different prescription. Turns out with this one I can t nurse. My baby girl has missed four feedings because she won t take the bottle and I ve only taken one pill. Can I nurse her or what else can I do??

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

It depends on type of antibiotics but generally it is not recommended to breastfeed till antibiotic treatment lasts so you should find other ways of feeding in consultation with your doctor.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
