Is Burning Sensation In The Arms Due To Amitriptyline?
I was prescribed amitriptyline by my psychiatrist and have taken 10 mg per day for four days. I am having a bad reaction to the drug. A strong feeling of burning on my arms. Will it help to stop the bad reaction if I stop taking it now? It is Sunday and I cannot reach my psychiatrist.

Amytryptilline does not cause a burning sensation in the arms. It is actually given in some patients to treat neuropathic pain. You may be experiencing the burning sensation due to some other reason. I would advise you to wait till you consult your psychiatrist because stopping Amytryptilline suddenly may cause certain side-effects like drowsiness, dizziness and altered mood.
