Hello dear

Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query in details .

* When endoscopy is normal - gastric , duodenal ulcers are ruled out .

* Mere only hiatus hernia will not give black stool .

* Other causes can be
- side effect of some drugs as pain killer or else - bleeding from intestine
beyond duodenal part ( which can not be assessed in endoscopy )
- other disorders of platelets or else .

Wishing you fine recovery .
Feel free to ask any further doubts .

Regards .
