Is Chest X-ray Showing Pulmonary Hyperaeration Normal?
hi is it normal or fit to work coz i did my chest xray this is the chest pa .the lung are hyperaerated but no active parenchymal infiltrates .heart is not enlarged.the diaphragm ,costophrenic sulci and osseous structures are unremarkable impressions pulmonary hyperaeration..do i need to take xray for second opinion or not?
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. No need to worry much for hyperinflation on chest x ray if you are not having any symptoms like cough or dyspnea and you are not smoker. But is you are smoker or having above mentioned symptoms, then better to get done PFT (pulmonary function test) to rule out bronchitis. No need for second opinion as repeat x ray will not tell you anything. But PFT will help you in diagnosing bronchitis. If PFT is also normal then no need to worry much for bronchitis or hyperinflation on x ray. So my advice is to go for PFT rather then repeat chest x ray. PFT will give you more information.
