Hi , i ve been advised to take A-CN ( Clindamycin & Nicotinamide gel ) fir acne vulgaris . Is this gel safe to use ??? coz i ve heard of many side effects of clindamycin ... i dont want to spoil my health , i m jus 18 yrs old ... can u plzzz tell me ??

Acne is quite common at your age and topical clindamycin gel is aa effective topical antibacterial and antiinflammatory that is commonly prescribed for inflammatory acne i.e acne that is red, pus filled Or painful. Clindamycin is a very safe topical for acne and apart from occasional irritation in those who have sensitive skin, topical clindamycin has practically no side effects at all. The side effects that you are probably worried about is pseudomembranous enterocolitis, but that is a side effect of Oral treatment with clindamycin not topical. Other topical's that are also usually given to treat inflammatory acne e.g benzoyl peroxide and adapalene gel may also be combined as part of topical treatment of acne.
