Is Combination Of Trazadone, Melatonin And Lexapro The Cause For Dizziness?

I am taking Trazadone 100 mg, Melatonin 10 mg at HS. I also take Lexapro 10 mg in the AM. I am experiencing dizziness, mod-severe and now need a cane for support. Can this combination be contributing to the dizziness. I am 72. Thanks Stephen YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Of all the medications you are taking, Trazadone is the medication most likely to cause dizziness due to its anticholinergic effects. You can try taking the Trazadone at bedtime instead of in the AM. If that does not help reduce the dose of trazodone to 50 mg.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
