Is Community Pneumonia Contagious And Has Blood In The Mucus?
I have community pneumonia, is it contagious, I have been bring mucus up with blood for a week now. I had guests for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner (I repeatedly washed my hands as I was cooking). My daughter is going for major surgery at the end of January is she at risk of catching pneumonia? Saw my doctor today and he prescribed antibiotics but I forgot to ask him the above questions.

Community pneumonia is usually caused by streptococcus , hemophilus influenza , moxallea and all these strains are highly contagious (infectious ).
You should take precaution for you daughter when contact .
