Is Continuing Menstrual Cycle Safe While On Medication For Hypothyroidism?

Im 22/F weight 45kgs I have hypothyroidism of tsh level 10.06. My gynaec advised for thyronom25mg on empty stomach and thyrowel after lunch. It s been 3days since i had taken the medication and continuing to take. I have weak body lost 5.kgs weight from 50 to 45kgs . I had gone for all tests as per doc advice. Ovaries seem to be normal . Blood normal. But i get hypertensed and dizzy for hours followed by nausea and loose stool during the onset of menstrual flow( this type of symtoms occured in april2015 ,October 2015February 2016, March 2016) . It makes me more nervous and i feel veryy dizzy with the thought that periods are a nightmare . I take meftal spas for reducing my stomach pain. Finally after the tests of blood and pelvic scans dhe said it was due to hypothyroidism. So will it be fine for my next cycle starts since I m on the medication for hypothyroidism.please let me know how i can deal with it. Thankyou :)

Hi...Can understand your concern. As per your query about painful menstrual cycle symptoms along with medications for hypothyroidism should be together or not....Well there is no harm having menstrual cycles along with medications for hypothyroidism as this is a physiological phenomenon and the symptoms which you were having earlier like dizziness, feeling low, nausea and vomiting were due to hypothyroidism as well as due to hormonal changes of your reproductive system. You shouldn't be worried as you will not get that much discomfort this time as you're on medication for it and slowly as thyroid levels get normal you will be perfectly fine. You should once consult your gynaecologist about taking meftal if feeling any pain or discomfort as she knows about your history well.I hope the information helps you.Take care.
