Hello, Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM. I can understand your concern and i am trying to give you some more information regarding to your query. A patient diagnosed with hypothyroidism should correct her hormonal level and then try to conceive. You started the treatment 1 month ago and it takes at least 4-6 weeks treatment to correct the TSH level. It is suggested to maintain the TSH level under 2.5 in order to get pregnant. Prior to treatment, hypothyroidism may cause irregular menstrual cycle and in general the normalisation of the hormonal level, will correct the symptoms. In your case i suggest you to do a pregnancy test and if negative to check the TSH level 6 weeks after starting the treatment to see if the actual dose of levothyroxine is the right one. I wouldn't suggest to plan a pregnancy without correcting the thyroid hormones level. Hope this information will be useful for you.
Kind regards, Dr.M.Guni
