Is Cornea Replacement Possible After A Vitrectomy?
My daughter has had an operation (vitrectomy) and during this operation her lens and vitreous had removed. This happened in 2009 when she was 9 years old. Is there any chance of cornea replacement and lens replacement. Your kind advise will be highly obliged. With Regards and lots of hope Reeja
Hello It seems from the history that your daughter has undergone vitrectomy and lens extraction when she was 9 years old. Corneal transplant surgery is definitely possible and even secondary intraocular lensimplantation can be done. If the condition of retina is good chances of good visual prognosis are present. Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist, preferably corneal surgeon for further examination and treatment.
Thank you
