Is Coumadin Prescribed In Case Of High INR Level Leading To Bleeding From Ears?
My husband has dried blood in his ear. He takes coumadin. His INR was high and caused the bleeding. They made adjustments in his dosage but he still has the dried blood in his ear. We saw an ENT and he prescribed antibiotic drops. We ve been putting them in his ear twice daily, but they are not dissolving the clot. It has been in his ear for a month now. Do you have any ideas on how to remove it? I wonder if glycerin would help dissolve it. The ENT says his eardrum is intact.
Hi, Due to taking blood thinner medicine there are all chances of having bleeding from various part of body. Now dose of blood thinner medicine is adjusted and INR might be normal. But do not try to remove blood clot in the ear as it might precipitate bleeding. You can apply glycerine which will help softening clot and clot might come out smoothly. Ok and take care.
