Is Croup Infected Person Contagious Even After The Cough Is Gone?

I have had croup since Dec 17 ... went to my PCP on Dec 21 where I was diagnosed. My cough is almost gone, but I want to know how I know that I am no longer contagious. I am supposed to go to show/lunch with a friend of mine, but she is currently going thru chemo and I do not want yo take any chance of her getting sick. It has been 3 weeks since my symptoms started ... Am I still contagious??
