Is Delayed Period, Cramps, Lower Back Pain And Abdominal Pain Related?

For three weeks I have been having severe gnawing upper abdominal pain mainly after eating. Gets worse when I lay down. I stopped eating any oils which causes the most pain. Took medicine for possible ulcer, symptoms are still there. Back pain and nausea associated. Now I am late on my period by almost a week but feeling cramps and low back pain. Pregnancy test was negative. Could the two be related?

Hi.
I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.

Your symptoms might be due to GERD, a acid reflux disease or other causes too. I advice you,
-Lifestyle modification:
- Avoiding recumbency 2 hours after food.
- Diet :  Avoid fatty foods, alcohol, chocolates, garlic, onion, coffee.
- Sleep in left side position.
-Tablets like PPI (ormeprazole, pantoprazole or rabeprazole)
-Also repeat a HPT after 45days from your last period (you can maximum wait for 10days of missed period)

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Get well soon.
Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
