Is Diarrhea After Eating And Stomach Cramps A Symptom Of IBS?
Hi, everytime I eat bread/pastry I get diarrhea within 30 minutes along with stomach cramps. I don t know if it s an intolerance to wheat/yeast. If I eat high-fat foods (roast dinners, mince etc or takeaways) I also suffer the same problems. Would this mean I have IBS?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. The obvious reason for having loose motions within half an hour of having bread, pastry or roast dinner. mince and take-ways is that your intestines area intolerant to the things that these foods contain and thus the management lies in the facts that you have to make a serious list of such foods and beverages and stop these altogether, never to try also as this will instigate the problems. And this is not really suggestive of IBS as irritable syndrome as it is called is related to the loose stool which increase with stress and/or anxiety. It is always better to get the relevant tests of blood, stool and urine. Also the colonoscopy and contrast enhanced CT to rule out any additional cause.
