Is Discomfort In Throat, weight Gain And Shoulder Pain Sign Of Hyperthyroidism?
past blood test showed my thyroid not to be underactive yet I have many symptons, every female in my family has under or over active thyroid. I suffer with indigestion weird feeling like golf ball stuck in throat. Always cold. Just been on low fat diet but gained 3 pounds. Feel miserable and lethargic. my waist seems to be expanding. Shoulder pain like a frozen shoulder. Had optic neuritis with clear mri scan. Shortness of breath.
Under or over active thyroid is based on the Thyroid function tests. If your blood tests are normal, your thyroid is normally functioning. Your symptoms are un related to the thyroid disease. If you have strong family history of thyroid disease I suggest you to do an Anti thyroid antibody - if positive you are at risk of thyroid disease and need to have thyroid blood tests every 6 months - 1year.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
