Is Drastic Drop In Body Temperature Normal While On Antibiotics?
My husband was diagnosed with pneumonia yesterday. He has been suffering since Monday (4 days now). He was prescribed antibiotics. He has had a temperature of around 102-103 until today. I checked it a minute ago and it is 97.1. Is this normal or bad?! THANK YOU!!
Hi, The normal body temperature is 98.6℉ +/- 1℉. That too depends on the site that is measured from (oral, axillary, rectal, skin, ear) and the activity being don't at the time of measurement. it also has a diurnal variation which means it's different during the morning and evening hours. so it falls in the normal range. secondly your doctor would have given him some antipyretic drugs containing Paracetamol which can cause a drop in temperate, so don't worry. Hope that answers your query.
