Is Dried Blood With Red Bumps Near Uncircumcised Foreskin Concerning?
Hi,
I just had a shower and was cleaning my penis, I am un cicumsized and pulled back my foreskin to clean it as I normally do and noticed some dried blood and some red bumps on one side near the foreskin meets with the head of my penise, it doesnt hurt and isnt itchy but obviously it has scared me....please help
That shouldn’t scare you. I cannot offer you a definitive diagnose because different diseases cause very similar symptoms in that body region, but all of them are treatable. Make an appointment with your family doctor or a dermatologist and you’ll get the help you need.
Until your appointment you can use a 0.5%-hydrocortisone cream and, in case it should start to itch, an OTC-antihistamine. Be careful when having sex until the local colleague will tell you if it’s contagious or nor. When using a cream condoms are also no option because fatty substances cause condoms to rupture and disintegrate.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Alexander Davis, General & Family Physician
