General & Family Physician 's  Response
Phentermine is a central nervous system stimulant similar to an amphetamine. You have not mentioned why you are taking phentermine. Phentermine is a addicting medicine if a take it for a long time. It will harm you rather than benefitting you if you take it for a long time. Never share this medicine with another person, especially someone with a history of drug abuse. Using this medicine improperly can cause serious side effects on the heart. Dry mouth is a very common side effect of phentermine. Other side effects can be restlessness, tremor, loss of sleep, dizziness, headache and impotence. Dry mouth due to phentermine will resolve with time. This is not a serious side effect. You can drink small amount of water frequently or keep chewing gum in your mouth.
Thanks
