Is Elevated Pulse Rate In The Mornings Concerning?

My resting pulse rate is around 60, lately when I get up in the morning I notice my pulse rate is up to 120+ and I feel a little nervous, nothing else. Have Hx of MI, hypertension, RA, CAD. Take Plavix, Crestor, Lisinopril, Lopressor, ASA, Prednisone, and Arava. Have cut out Coffee and still experience this.

High heart rate that too 120 in not a good sign especially in a patient with history of MI .

THe causes could be either
1. Low blood sugar in the morning times : which can be confirmed by going self testing of blood sugar when ever you have fast heart rate or nervousness.

2. Problems in heart itself ( Arrthymia ) : Which requires ECG or even Stress TMT test .

Whatever the cause is it needs to be controlled else it can put strain on your heart . I advise you to consult your cardiologist for that . Probably increasing the night dose of Lopressor will solve the issue . But do consult your cardiologist.
