Welcome to Health care magic forum.
Epiglottitis is an infection of the epiglottis by bacteria, most often caused by Haemophilus influenzae type B, some cases are caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae etc.
It should be treated by the antibiotics, and if not responding, culture and sensitivity of the throat culture is done and treated accordingly.
The spread to the others is not a matter in bacterial infections, so you need not worry about this.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods, to build up resistance such infections.
wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
