Is Flying Safe Post Wisdom Teeth Removal?

I had two infected and broken top wisdom teeth extracted on monday(yesterday). I have a 3 hr flight to Florida this Sunday. The dentist told me I would be pain free and that the air pressure wouldn t be a problem. I have a lot of anxiety that once I m in air I ll be in excruciating pain. Do you think I ll be okay to fly?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain in case if it was not a very traumatic extraction healing mostly is considerable after 6 days of extraction and there are probably very less chances of getting any pain..

Most commonly pressure changes affects air filled areas like sinuses, ear and nose and can cause congestion and pain..

In case it is upper wisdom tooth pain or congestion in the sinus can be elicited as pain in the teeth and more where you have a healing lesion..

As a matter of precaution you can take a painkiller like Tramadol before the flight for preventing pain..

Hope your query is solved..
