Is Frequent Thoughts Of Death A Sign Of Depression?

Are frequent thoughts of death a sign of depression or anxiety or something? Nothing suicidal but I would think about me dying, whether from old age or otherwise, and the thought of not existing anymore can make me very panicked and feel down about it.

Frequent thoughts of death may be a sign of depression but they occur other symptoms of depression also e.g. sadness of mood, anhedonia, easy fatiguability, disturbed sleep, decreased appetite, decreased concentration and attention, decreaed self esteem, bleak view of future etc....so only a sole symptom of frequent thoughts of death doesnt necessarily means depression....
