Is Hard Painful Stools A Common Symptom Post Congenital Hernia Surgery?
i had an open surgery of congenital hernia on the right side 10 days ago and my stool is very hard and it leads to pain in my groin for few minutes whenever i go to potty!!,however is that a matter of concern ?? or would it be fine as time passes on??
Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinion it is due to post operative constipation. It is common after abdominal surgery. Due to surgical stress and general anaesthesia, bowel movement s become sluggish. So constipation is inevitable. Try to follow these steps for better symptomatic relief. 1. Drink plenty of fluids. 2. Start high fiber diet, including fruits, green leafy vegetables, salads etc. 3. Go for walking atleast after meals. 4. Avoid stress and anxiety. Be relax and calm. If by above steps, you are not improving in 5-6 days then get done ultrasound of abdomen and serum potassium level. This is to rule out paralytic ileus.
