Is Having An Air Pocket Behind The Heart A Cause For Concern?
I went to the ER last night with pressure on my chest. The diagnosed me with an air pocket behind the heart and a hiatel hernia. They told me to take priolosec for hiatel hernia but nothing for air pocket. Am I in danger having an air pocket behind my heart?
If you got an air pocket behind your heart but you are feeling well then it needs not be worried about this . Anywhen who is being exposed to vein or arteries can develop this air pocket or scuba diving can also give rise to air pocket in your lungs which trevals anywhere in your body.
It seems it's not that big air pocket that can trouble you but even then be aware if you develop hypotension , joint pain or chest pain . Because of Hiatus hernia you can have chest pain too.
If it troubles you in any means then the treatment for air embolism is recompression in a hyperbaric chamber. This is a painless treatment during which you occupy a steel, high-pressurized room that delivers 100 percent oxygen. This therapy can cause an air embolism to shrink, so it can be absorbed into your bloodstream without causing any damage.
Good Luck
