Is Having Headache Normal After Major Brain Surgery?
Is it common to have slight (small) headaches after you had major brain surgery. I had a brain aneurysm on the 4th of January. It was coiled and a stent put in. I am home now. Doctore went thru the groin area. I am71 yrs old. I am on several medications for my heart & I also have asbestosis.
As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult a neurosurgeon and plan for an MRI scan to rule out a secondary brain injury.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
