Is Having Sex With A TB Suffering Person Safe?

can i have sex with my spouse who is likely to have TB as there is lesion in upper portions of her lungs and cavity in left lobe. CT of lungs done .Biopsy taken thru broncoscopy and ATT started . I read tat sex helps in increasing the immune system so i was thinking of this as an added feature to the diet to bring the immunity up fast As it is not yet proved whether she is contagious or not can we take the precaoution by her continuing to wear mask when she is near me

HI THANKS FOR POSTING YOUR QUERY ON HEALTH CARE MAGIC.
GOING BY YOUR CLINICAL HISTORY I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU THAT ,PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS ITSELF HAS NO RISK OF TRANSMITTING INFECTIONS SEXUALLY.BUT GENITAL TUBERCULOSIS CARRIES SUCH A RISK TO A LITTLE EXTENT. SO YOU CAN REST ASSURE THAT YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN SEX WITH YOUR WIFE ON THE CURRENT HEALTH STATUS OF HER.AS ATT(ANTI TUBERCULOUS THERAPY) IS STARTED ,SHE WILL NOW START TO HEAL HER LEFT LOBE CAVITY.SO THIS BIOPSY PROVEN PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS HAS GOOD OUTCOME AND TREATMENT RESPONSE.ALSO PARTICIPATING IN SEX HAS NUMEROUS POSITIVE EFFECTS ON OUR BODY SYSTEMS,IMMUNE BOOSTING IS ONE SUCH A BENEFIT.STRONG IMMUNE DEFENSES ARE MORE LIKELY TO QUICKLY ELIMINATE T.B. BACILLI.THEREFORE I WOULD LIKE TO CONCLUDE THAT PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS IS NOT A SEXUALLY TRANSMITING DISEASE,BUT IT IS CERTAINLY A CONTAGIOUS DISEASE SINCE HER RESPIRATORY SECRETIONS HARBOUR T.B. CAUSING ORGANISMS.HENCE YOU HAVE A THEORTICAL POSSIBILITY OF ACQUIRING T.B FROM A RESPIRATORY ROUTE BUT NOT GENITAL ROUTE.CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR FOR FURTHER QUERIES.
THANK YOU.
TAKE CARE.
