Is Heart Replacement Surgery Safe To Have With Full Anesthesia?
Hi, I was looking for some help. Its regarding my mother (Age: 55), who needs to undergo an operation - cist removal from Ovary. She is also a heart patient. Doctors had told that she needs a mitral valve replacement about 20 years back. Her 2D Echo had been showing function of about 1.8 (dont recollect exact word for this measure - its either the valve size or heart function parameter). One of the doctors mentioned, its not up for a repalcement yet as its at the boundary and we stuck to that and things have been fine so far. In recent 2D Echo tests, this measurement is showing a dropp at 1.64. I d like to know if this is ok/safe for undergoing this surgery with full anesthesia?
1.64 seems to be the area of mitral valve. In general it will dictate mild stenosis. It means that her risk of surgery is low and no further intervention for the heart is needed before she undergoes her ovarian surgery.
