Is Heavy Weight Lifting Bad For Health?

Hi. I want to know if heavy weight lifting is bad for health. I was doing weight lifting for 2-3 years but then I suddenly did not feel like going to gym because I was feeling tired and not enjoying the exercise anymore.
When I discussed with my father he told me that a doctor told him that weight lifting causes problem and one should rather do light exercises like morning walk. Is that true?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Weight lifting is not bad for the health. It increases muscle mass and strength which is good. The muscle mass would replace fat.

It should be combined with aerobic exercises for example walking (there are also other forms). Aerobic exercises would help with heart health and also with general fitness.

You can work a schedule where you would do both types of activity

I hope this helps
