Is High Protein Advisable When Having Swollen Ankles?

I am on dialysis for last two-and-a-half years. Recently, my albumin levels showed a decline - now it is 2.7. My feet, ankles get swollen during the day time but after resting at night, the swelling completely goes away. My doctor says that I should take more protein in my diet, but isn't it means more load for the kidneys?

Welcome. I dont know the cause of your dialysis but your albumin is low. I dont know whats your kidney damage status, creatinine levels? etc.
Taking whole scenario in combined form may lead me to some detailed decision. Can you please attach your Lab reports & details in a direct question from my profile by clicking on Ask me a question. I will be more than happy to assist you in a better way and promptly.
