Mam My son have a problem of Breath hold spell during crying.Now he is 1year 3months. after seven months he had a problem with breath hold crying he goes unconscious during breath hold and his hand was stiffed for 2 to 3min.after that he comes to normal and see everything as a new and he takes sleep for 2 to 3 hours. but last time he had a same problem but we noticed this time epilepsy after take long breath hold. we consult our doctor he suggest blood test and EEG..EEG show some of the few waves observed sharpen in between two hemisphere. Blood test shown hemoglobin shows 11.3% and iron shows 53%. He prescribed Valparin 200mg for 365days and also he priscribed Liver Syrub also.He told two weeks after take the blood test for know volporato acid level in blood.. so i confused and and i need to take second opinion .so i went to Pediatric Neurologist specialist in Chennai Child Trust Hospital..That doctor saw the report and he said..this is normal.When child crying continuously hold the breath that time this seizure and some of the hand movement is there..so dont need to take valparin.and he prescribed Iron syrup and suggest health diet. Please clear my doubt..Is this Epeliptical problem or this is normal for child during breath hold spell and please suggest what are the first aid for breath hold crying and epilypsy.
