Is Hormone Replacement Therapy A Safe Procedure?

I m a 63yr old postmenopausal woman who looks 50 & feels 35 sexually. How do I find a lubricant that isn t so sloppy feeling? I ve thought of hormone replacement, but I have a maternal, childless aunt who had breast cancer at my age, so I m not sure it d be safe for me! Could a breast cancer gene test tell me if it d be safe for me to take hormone replacements? If not, what else it there that isn t so wet ???

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Hormone replacement therapy is relatively safe. Estrogen only HRT can slightly increase the risk of breast cancer but only when used for more than ten years.

You can go for genetic study( BRCA to check whether you are at a higher risk for developing breast cancer. You can apply estrogen cream for vaginal dryness.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
