Hello, I believe that your treatment is not intensive enough taking your age into account. You are young, your future lies ahead and my opinion would be to avoid "lazy" treatments (less injections) and go for more intensive ones. First of all you need a thorough evaluation of your diet and physical activity. You would never have a good glucose control if you'd not be cautious regarding your eating habits. Mixtard requires a really committed patient. You should be on schedule for every meal or snack to avoid either hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia. Another treatment approach would be a basal insulin once or twice a day and 3 bolus insulin injections before the meals. Your other medical conditions don't help either. It's not clear to me whether you're still suffering from tuberculosis or not, but this can make blood glucose regulation more difficult and would require increased insulin dosage to achieve. Should you need a more detailed answer, please ask again stating the points that need clarification. Kind Regards!
