Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Been taking otc hydrochloride for a urinary infection. Problems yesterday with urination & brown color, now today the brown color seems to have gone away. Have been taking 2 tablets 95 mg 3 times daily the past 2 days. What should my next move be?? T.Y.
It is normal for the urine to change color when taking OTC Hydrochloride (Oxytetracycline). Just continue medication as prescribed. Besides, should take cranberry supplement to ease the symptoms plus increase fluids and/or uva-ursi tea intake. After finishing this medication, wait for 3 days, then, repeat urine analysis and urine culture and sensitivity testing to see if infection is there again.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
