Is Improvement Of Ejection Fraction Possible Post Massive Heart Attack?

I have a question regarding ejection fraction of the heart. So my dad had a massive heart attack on Jan 15 which lead his heart to only be able to pump 20%. Cardiologist said if it doesn t increase to 35% by march 30 he will have a defibrillator put in. What are the chances of the ejection fraction increasing that much by that time? Cuz I know heart tissue/muscle doesn t grow back and once its gone its gone.
