Is Inhaling Burnt Wax In An Unventilated Room A Concern?
Hi I have a decorative wooden tub filled with wax that I place wicks in and light unbeknown to me my son had placed a blowing bubbles test tube beneath the wax I lit the wick in my lounge and had a nap waking 1.5 hours later to the candle hissing it had burnt the end of the bubble tube, I ventilated the house and removed the candle. How much harm will inhaling this in an unventilated room have caused me Thanks
Well, it depends on the duration of exposure to the fumes and also it depends on the symptoms or the severity of symptoms if you have any. So in case if you do not have any symptoms like breathing problems, cough, burning in throat and chest, dizziness, etc. then you need not to worry.
In case if you have any symptoms or discomfort then you can consult an Emergency room and get yourself and others those who are exposed checked. For now take more of fresh air, drink plenty of water and keep the room/house well ventilated. Keep a watch on your symptoms in case if you do not have any.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora, Dentist
